ScanReach becomes member of the Norwegian Offshore Wind Cluster
OWC can fit many use cases, but really shines when it comes to retrofitting vessels with data collecting capabilities.
OWC is currently installed on a range of different types of vessels operating as the backbone for ScanReach solutions like ConnectPOB, ConnectFuel and others.
My name is Tor Christian Angeltveit. As CTO I am responsible for developing ScanReach solutions.
In case you missed the first one, here it is.
OWC is an abbreviation for “onboard wireless connectivity”. Which in essence is a ScanReach wireless mesh network consisting of multiple radio devices ensuring simple installation and sufficient connectivity.
OWC was initially created so that ScanReach in a simple and cost-efficient way could equip vessels with the required infrastructure to track passengers and crew with the goal of enhancing safety.
As time has passed by more use cases have been added and OWC is today also collecting and transporting fuel, temperature, humidity and other types of data.
We have developed the reliable Onboard Wireless Connectivity IoT platform for complex steel environments removing the need for expensive cabling. It is now possible to connect wirelessly to people, sensors, equipment and cargo onboard any type of vessel, rig or windfarm.
