Singapore retains the # 1 spot in the Leading Maritime Cities (LMC) report conducted by DNV and Menon

ScanReach presence in Singapore

One of ScanReach’s strategic moves in 2021 was to establish an office in Singapore. Ronny Waage was appointed as our Regional Manager & VP Sales APAC. With its well-established maritime community, access to the greater APAC region and a strong focus on maritime digitalisation Singapore
(SG) was the natural choice for Arild Sæle and ScanReach when opening the APAC office in 2021.

Mr Waage was our representative at the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) New Year Conversation event.

The report presented in SMM event

In Singapore, the report was launched by Dr Shahrin Osman and Erik W Jakobsen at the Singapore Maritime Foundation New Year event. It benchmarks each maritime city based on five key pillars. Shipping, Maritime Finance & Law, Maritime Technology, Ports & Logistics and Attractiveness & Competitiveness.

Singapore holds the top spot for Attractiveness & Competitiveness. Since the last report, SG has also captured 1st place for Maritime Technology, overtaking Oslo.

Focus and dedication

Becoming the world’s leading maritime city is a result of dedicated work over many years. Crucial contribution by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Singapore Shipping Association, SMF, Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI), PSA Singapore, PIER71™, and the greater maritime community in the lion city. Recently we have also seen a strong focus on decarbonisation with the establishment of the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation headed by Lynn Loo. We are excited to see what comes out of this in the coming years!

The launch was also covered by DNV – Maritimehttps://dnv.social/1qV as well as by Anders Hegre on the NBAS – Norwegian Business Association Singapore website.
