Connect wirelessly to your cargo!
Manual is now automatic. Quality assure the temperature and humidity of your cargo. Time saved is money gained.

Increase efficiency
As the shipping industry gets more and more competitive, the time wasted must be kept to an absolute minimum. Sending your crew to monitor temperatures and other environmental readings is inefficient and includes risky traversal.

Small and efficient
To keep things neat and simple, small environmental sensors are installed where monitoring is needed. With several years worth of battery life, you can forget charging and cabling.
Place the sensors virtually anywhere, with installation being as easy as a stick-on tape. If your vessel carries climate-sensitive cargo, add a sensor to monitor the cargo conditions.

Instant data monitoring and sensor alarms
Our graphical user interface (GUI) will provide instant and live data. The environmental sensors deliver data through our onboard wireless connectivity (OWC) solution. Sensor alarms can be set with desired thresholds stated.

Data access powered by the cloud and API
Data stored in ScanReach Cloud will also be made available for consumption by third parties or external systems using Application Programming Interfaces (API). A complete end-to-end solution.

Features for Cargo Condition Monitoring
Reduce cost / Earn more
Easy and simplified monitoring of temperature and humidity of your cargo on board will decrease time wasted, while increasing productivity. Keep your crew focused on what’s important.Reduce manual monitoring
For compartments like refrigerators, freezers or other spaces onboard that requires environmental monitoring, we can help you automate your daily tasks. No more ship traversing for freezer temps or cargo humidity.Quick, easy and safe installation
It can’t get much simpler. Depending on location and environment, sensors can get installed in minutes. Indoor installation can be done as easy as double sided tape.“From refrigerators and freezers to livestock ”
Mundane and repetitive tasks have been made automated. Through our smart IoT system, vessels can be equipped with smart temperature and environment sensors, removing the need for manual monitoring. The temperature and humidity sensors have enormous potential in regard to efficiency, safety, and reduction of manual monitoring.
Chief Steward’s is busy enough as it is
Olympic Subsea ASA and its group of companies are dedicated to providing a safe and healthy workplace for its employees. They continuously and actively participate with clients, contractors, and other authorities in developing improved standards. One has been to make sure that food storage at all times meets requirements and regulations, for crew safety.
“By using the temperature sensors in the freezer and fridges for food storage saves us a lot of time, as well as secures valuable reporting,” one of our clients said. Sensor data anywhere on a vessel is available in real-time.

Animal Welfare in the livestock export industry
ScanReach had the honor of being a part of the trial executed by LiveCorp with the aim of better animal welfare in the livestock export industry. This is proof of the many use cases for the ScanReach OWC (Onboard Wireless Connectivity) system. LiveCorp’s Chief Executive Officer, Wayne Collier, says improved connectivity has been identified as a key enabler for the industry’s continuing digital transformation.
Effective wireless transmission of data is difficult within these livestock ships due to the amount of steel, particularly on the livestock decks. In addition to this, the sensors had to be able to handle frequent washdowns and thorough biosecurity washdowns after every voyage.
Wayne Collier, Chief Executive Officer, LiveCorp
“Some ship owners and exporters are using automated loggers to collect information such as temperature and humidity. However, someone currently needs to walk around each deck to get a strong enough signal to download the data to a handheld device.”
Mr. Collier said the data was successfully made available to the ship’s Captain and, when satellite connectivity allowed, also uploaded simultaneously to the ‘cloud’ for review by the land-based project team. The transmission of data to the cloud from a ship at sea remains a real challenge to solve moving forward.

Temperature
& Humidity Monitoring
Why? What? How?
F.A.Q.
What is ConnectCCM? How does it work?
Connect Cargo Condition Monitoring is a wireless end-to-end solution providing real-time temperature and humidity monitoring and reporting data. We connect temperature and humidity sensors through a mesh network of nodes on your vessel. Then the data is transferred securely through a gateway to the bridge, as well as ashore through cloud services and application programming interfaces (API). Your data can safely be available to your selected platforms and partners.
What value can I expect by installing Connect Cargo Condition Monitoring?
Time spent monitoring manually is money wasted. Sending crew throughout the ship is risky and inefficient. Gather information wirelessly and automatically at the bridge or on land.
Is there any risk and is it costly to install ConnectCCM?
No.
We do not cause any physical adjustments on your asset like when you install cabled solutions. The pricing is a yearly subscription based on the number of mesh nodes and sensor integrations, starting on 20 nodes. Temperature and humidity sensors are simple to install. Depending on your configuration, sensors may even be installed with only stick-on tape. Easy in – easy out!
Do you need to integrate into the onboard automation system?
No. This is a standalone system, without any need to integrate it into your OEM system.
How can ConnectCCM help increase competitiveness?
You will get up and running with real-time temperature and humidity monitoring swiftly and much less costly than with conventional methods. This will provide you with an advantage compared to competitors not yet having this. The return on investment is potentially large considering the amount of manual monitoring needed to log, e.g. all refrigerators and freezers x times a day. Or e.g. what is the cost if your cargo is damaged, due to not have been able to keep your cargo within the required temperature and humidity span?
Why wireless?
The key benefits of going wireless are many. The solution replaces costly cabling. Installation is executed during operation. It gives real-time temperature and humidity monitoring for reporting, and real-time information alerts in case required measures need to be executed to stay within required temperatures and humidity thresholds.
What is normal installation time?
Depending on the number of nodes and sensors to be mounted, scanned, and tested, it normally takes 2-3 hours to install the mesh nodes + 15 – 60 minutes.
Can the Mesh network help us with other usecases?
Yes, when the Mesh network is installed, ScanReach will support a wide range of other useful features to benefit from. The vessel is now ready for the IoT future. Solutions such as ConnectPOB, different sensors like temperature, humidity, vibration, ConnectFuel, and so on.
How is it installed
Small sensors are installed through stick on tape, weatherproof boxes, or screws. This is highly dependent on the vessel configuration, and whether or not the sensor will be located for example outdoors. We will guide you to the easiest and most cost-effective solution.
Can I install this on our LTTC fleet?
Yes. The solution is not invasive, you can install the wireless network and sensors without affecting their systems, but you will need an internet connection to transfer data to the cloud. You can also remove the solution and install it onto another LTTC vessel within days too if needed.
Will ScanReach push performance systems on my company? Is our data trapped on your database?
No. ScanReach will securely store your data and provide secure access through an industry-standard integration (API) which will be simple for your IT business partner to access. Our solution is to provide real-time temperature and humidity data, NOT to tell our customers how to use it. You know your business operational profiles best.
